The vegetable coal is the one that is obtained from the carbonization of woods. It has a calorific power from 29.300 to 35.000 kJ / kCal. The carbonization can be done using old processes as well as charcoal kiln or modern processes as well as continuous kilns or dry distillations. It is used as a prime material to obtain the activated carbon, light combustibles, to synthesize the calcic carbide, cyanides, carbon sulfides, in the making of electrodes, black dust, pyrotechnic materials, different catalysts, in domestic grills and ovens, restaurants, etc.

It is the coal obtained in the carbonization of the national woods. There are a lot of different types: the more lasting ones are ilex, oak and olive wood, and the most volatile ones are pine and eucalyptus wood. It is used basically for domestic chimneys and restaurants. It is the coal obtained in the carbonization of woods from Argentina, Paraguay, South-Africa & Brazil, as well as "lapacho", "quebracho", "haitín", etc. This type of vegetable coal has different properties than the national one, generally has more calorific power and lasts more when burning. It is special for restaurants.

Coal briquettes
The coal briquettes are the compacted dust of coal forming little balls. In a domestic barbecue the results for its combustion are generally lower than the vegetable coal, but with a continuous fire. It is ideal for cooking meals that require slow firing. They are served in 3 kg bags.
